Manila Harbor Center (MHC), in collaboration with the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) PMO-NCR North, Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) and Oceanic Container Lines, Inc., conducted a cleanup drive along the seaside of the industrial complex last September to mark the annual Coastal Cleanup Day celebrations.
With the theme SeaTheChange, the drive also coincided with the 24th National Maritime Week. MHC employee volunteers teamed up with other volunteers from government agencies to collect garbage from the surrounding waters. A total of 55 sacks equivalent to 2.4 metric tons of waste debris were collected.
MHC is committed to support the government’s environmental and social responsibility initiatives along with the United Nations’ Global Sustainability Development Goals.
