Manila Multipurpose Terminal (MMT) participated in this year’s South East Asia Iron & Steel Institute Conference and Exhibition, held from May 21 to 24 at the Jakarta Convention Center in Indonesia.

Geraldine Santos, MMT commercial head and Philippine Iron and Steel Institute (PISI) director, represented the Philippines alongside fellow PISI officers. Santos presented the country report for the Philippines, offering insights into the country’s economic outlook and highlighting key mega-infrastructure projects. She also emphasized the vital role of robust government support in advancing the local steel industry. Her presentation also highlighted how strategic collaboration between the government and private sector fuels growth, strengthens local capacity, and positions the Philippine steel industry for long-term sustainability and competitiveness in the region.

The annual SEAISI Conference & Exhibition unites industry leaders and experts from across the ASEAN region, providing valuable insights into current market trends, key strategies and emerging opportunities that shape the future of the regional steel sector.
