Manila Multipurpose Terminal (MMT) successfully organized a two-day industry consultation on June 5 and 10 at Solaire Entertainment City in Parañaque. The consultation brought together consignees, ship agents, and brokers to discuss the growing impact of climate change in the logistics industry.

Geraldine Santos, MMT commercial head, led the discussions.  Phillip Marsham, ICTSI Philippine sub-region executive director; Lee Charles Wilson, MMT safety advisor; and Bryan Gayagoy and Jairus Gogorza, MMT operations managers, offered perspectives on operational safety and strategic planning. Mikkel Puyat, ICTSI commercial director – Philippines cluster; Kevin Randall, MMT terminal director; and Joseph Dasal, MMT operations superintendent, also attended the event.

The consultation focused on the current climate situation and highlighted how extreme weather affect cargo handling and disrupt MMT operations. Attendees were presented with recent operational challenges and ongoing efforts to strengthen resiliency and improve efficiency. Each session concluded with an interactive Q&A, where participants shared their concerns, sought clarifications, and volunteered strategies to better manage weather-related disruptions and enhance operational readiness.

MMT thanks all the participants for their contributions and engagement. The company remains committed to fostering collaboration as it works toward more sustainable, resilient, and future-ready terminal operation.
